Sometimes sitches work better than glue

It took him 14 years, but he finally got stitches!

Last night Britt got a new jump rope to add to his ever growing work out equipment & as he was using a pocket knife to cut the plastic off of the jump rope, he cut his thumb instead! His timing was not the best, simply because the Instacare in town just closed. So we ended up in the emergency room! Kole didn't care too much for the part were the doctor was sewing Britt's thumb. Britt was o.k. with that part, he just didn't like the shot to numb his thumb!! Kole was kind enough to sing to Britt to try to help keep his mind off the pain. It was all very entertaining! The doctor also commented on how it sounded like I needed an oxygen tank or maybe even an overnight stay, but both Britt and Kole quickly let him know that overnight stays were not allowed during our brief trip to his world. I love my bugs! We miss Dave! Kole is hiding under the blanket in the first picture. She did finally get brave enough to come out & see what was going on. Four stithces later, we were released. Did I mention that I really miss Dave?!?! Single parents are my heroes!!! It is my humble opinion that single parents deserve a kingdom of their own. There really is a light at the end of this tunnel . . . . isn't there? Oh yea, we miss Dave!

We are very pleased with our baby bug for his awesome accomplishments in wrestling this year. Wrestling is the MOST demanding sport psychically, mentally, and emotionally! It is also the only sport that we have observed where the opponents are best friends off the mat and the fiercest enemy during the match! We have made some amazing friends by having Britt participating in this sport! We will miss our "Utah wrestling family" next year when we are freezing in ND.

This year Britton has shown great maturity in dealing with disappointments and injustice! He learned a lot from awesome coaches - Todd, Trevor, Titon & Dad. He experienced both defeat and wins. He took first place at the Wasatch Tournament and all but one of the Tuesday Night Tournaments. The one Tuesday Night Tournament that he took second place, he came up to us before the tournament began and asked us if we would be upset with him if he let a particular boy he always beats win the match that night. We didn't even have to ask him which boy he wanted to let win. We were very touched by his love for his fellow wrestler. There is one boy who is an amazing wrestler and for some reason his parents are horrible to him. Whenever he loses they are extremely abusive. We told Britt that it was his decision in regards to how he handled the match. He lost only that one match that night, whether it was by choice or not, who knows?!?

Now for the injustice that was served this year. Britt took second at State this year and we are very pleased with him! It was a very hard loss for him. The final score was 8 to 7. During the match Britt was penalized one point for clasping hands . . . you tell us from the picture above does it look like his hands are clasp? Also, after the final period ended and the ref had to separate the two boys, the ref decided to give the Millard boy a point for an escape. Once again, you tell us how does someone earn a point for an escape when they still have their opponents body wrapped around them? The ref's pride obviously got the best of him and he refused to reverse the point, therefore bringing defeat down upon Britt's head. We reviewed the video tape of the match and it clearly shows that Britt had control of the boy until after the final buzzer sounded. We also had people who we don't even know come up to us after the match and share with us that they felt that those points were unjustly given to the other boy. The final score should have been 7 to 6 in Britt's favor. The best part about the entire match is how very well Britt accepted the situation! He is one of our biggest heroes! Thank you for setting such a great example! We love you and you are the first place winner in our eyes!

For anyone who isn't aware of it yet . . . . we are moving to North Dakota. "Why" is the first question that we are asked when we share this information with others. So in an effort to keep anyone from wondering, the answer to that question is - this move is an answer to prayer. We are excited about only being seven hours from Dave's family. For the most part we are also looking forward to new friends and adventures. The area we are moving to has a teacher student ratio of 9/1. Dave will be working in Stanley and we will probably be living in Tioga. Yes, we do realize that it is extremely cold there and we have purchased warm clothes!!!!!

Britt & Trav are ready to play in the snow. Good thing Trav moved here from Minnesota and he had the proper attire. Yes, we got snow in Southern Utah. It hardly ever snows here and we got about 6". There was plenty for snowball fights & some left over for Britt to build a snowman he named Fredrick. Sadly enough, Fredrick only lived about an hour. Sassy started hissing at Fredrick, then she circled him a few times & she finally attacked him. She slapped at him a few times, knocking him over & he laid there in defeat until he melted away. Kole & Neesha were simply annoyed by the snow!

Our three bugs at graduation. Neesh proved to the world that she was able to graduate & now she is off to conquer her world. They are all so darn cute! They must have adorable parents.

Here are the pictures of Kaneesha's crash. Thankfully she was bruised and nothing more serious. She also found out that there are "ducks" in her car & they needed to be fixed!

Another year older

She is gorgeous! Only one more year and she can date, unless the mom gets her way, then it will be another ten years. She is one of my heroes. Happy Birthday Kole bug. I love you! Mom

Kole's birthday

We went up to Pine Mountain for the evening. It keep raining on and off. Kole was keeping a close eye on the clouds. She would inform us about every three minutes that the clouds where moving very, very fast! Maybe she has a future in weather forecasting?!?!

Krae's amazing catch!

Baby Girl does it again! I love to watch her. She made this catch during a region playoff game. It was a real intense neck in neck game, but our ladies pulled it off! They are now headed to State! This picture was on the front page of the sports sections. She makes me smile.

Baby Girl is Graduating

Kaneesha Rae has reached that point in her life where she will be graduating from High School on May 23, 2008. It seems like it was just a few months ago that she was only three and she was trying to permanently borrow "oakmeal " the bear from Cory. Everyone who loves her is invited to attend her graduation.
